ME WANT NOW!!!!!!

So the first Deathly Hallows trailer made me gasp and get chills all over. THIS one literally had me holding the sides of my computer screen with my face two inches away from the monitor. The mirror shard! DOBBY! The beach scene! Nagini the snake! The Lotsa Potters!

This trailer has turned me into Cookie Monster. ME WANT TO SEE NOW!

Don't worry if you have no idea what I'm talking about. I won't give it away. You should have been reading the books this whole time, but now isn't a time for me to judge you. It is time to welcome you into the fold...because if this movie doesn't get you to read the books, nothing will.

But Should I Wear Them to Opening Night?

Today's questionable product is actually a CRAFT more than a product, as they aren't for sale... Golden Snitch pasties (from the world of Harry Potter)!
Could anything be more appropriate for a midnight premiere? I THINK NOT!!
Check them out on Craftster, though sadly, inexplicably, there isn't a How-To on this HOW TO website.

Trailer Extravaganza!!

THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON trailer in HD

The MTV Movie Awards debuted some clips important to the tween in me this weekend, and hello, Jailbait Jacob! It doesn't look like the acting is much improved, but I do appreciate that the camera isn't thisclose to Bella and Edward's face. Interesting...looks like Bella finds out about Jacob (BTW- happy tree friend snuggly?) much earlier.

Also- a new clip from Harry Potter! whee!!! I'm crazy excited, especially as this is pretty close to how I pictured this moment in the books.

It's Coming... It's COMING!! New Harry Potter Trailer

There's so much even in this little trailer that's directly from the book that I am holding out more hope for this Harry Potter movie than I ever have before- and we all know what an enormous HP nerd I am, so that's saying something.

HarryPotterHarryPotterHarryPotterHarryPotter: Or Why the British Love Chintz

The Daily Mail posted this picture of Tom Felton, aka Draco Malfoy, that he uploaded to Twitter after a day of filming.

This must be from Deathly Hallows (#7), which they're filming now. I can't tell you how excited I am about this picture, although it does sort of look like some sort of creepily inappropriate sex-victim picture.

Stephen King Quote Just an Excuse to Post Robert Pattinson Photo

Stephen King is a funny dude. No, not just funny looking! Stop that! In an interview with USA Weekend, King puts a definitive end to the "Twilight is the next Harry Potter" debate:
"Both Rowling and Meyer, they’re speaking directly to young people. ... The
real difference is that Jo Rowling is a terrific writer and Stephenie Meyer
can’t write worth a darn. She’s not very good."
No way to sugarcoat that turd. He goes on:
"People are attracted by the stories, by the pace and in the case of Stephenie
Meyer, it’s very clear that she’s writing to a whole generation of girls and
opening up kind of a safe joining of love and sex in those books. It’s exciting
and it’s thrilling and it's not particularly threatening because they’re not
overtly sexual. A lot of the physical side of it is conveyed in things like the
vampire will touch her forearm or run a hand over skin, and she just flushes all
hot and cold. And for girls, that’s a shorthand for all the feelings that
they’re not ready to deal with yet."
Frankly, I think Stephen King is completely correct- Rowling and Meyer are nowhere NEAR the same league of writers- it's like comparing C.S. Lewis and R.L. Stine. However, since I think we ALL would much rather look at Robert Pattinson than Stephen King, who definitely has a face for writing, guess whose picture I'm posting?
Yums.

Hollywood Hates Me

Pushing Daisies is most likely canceled while WifeSwap remains on the air, and this Harry Potter trailer came out, despite making me wait 8 months for its release. The Hollywood fates are so, so cruel.

Check out this trailer, though. Harry's the Chosen One! Millennium Bridge goes boom! Jim Broadbent looks more and more like Slughorn! Hermione may have learned to act!

Blog requests! Does that mean I'm popular??

ZOMG... people are telling me stuff to blog about. That makes me feel like I've made it. Or like I'm writing people's essays in high school (They swore they liked me!!!). Just kidding. I never did that.

Anyway... two fab things to post about today:

40 pictures from Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, which I have no hesitation in posting, because it serves Warner Brothers right for moving the movie's release back 8 months. It looks like some of my favorite book moments have made it to the screen... though after watching the fifth movie, I am still wondering how people who didn't read the book have ANY clue what's going on. See them all here. Thanks to Adam for letting me know they're there, this livejournal poster, and to iwatchstuff.com!

In science news... Germans have successfully transplanted to real arms onto a farmer that lost his 6 years ago. There are so many jokes about German engineering that I could put in here, I'm not even going to go there. What I will say is that apparently they were running a "buy 2 arms get mustache transplant free" special. Hey-o! Seriously though- this is on one hand (get it?) very cool, and on the other, frightening as hell. Seriously-first it's arm transplants, next it's bionic men and robot apocolypse. Thanks to JAX for pointing the way on this story. I'll be here all week, folks.
